Dear Arch Stanton,
I have been following the various articles published on Damtsig for a good number of months and have been astounded by the number of passive-aggressive and self righteous responses you have been flooded with. People have attacked you either for busting their bubble or to vent their own aggression. I admire your courage in dealing so evenhandedly with what has been posted and - no doubt - the large amounts of unpublished correspondence you must receive.
Your website has allowed me to develop a much more critical eye in dealing with buddhist "rhetoric" put forth from certain quarters - which, I am sure, I would have fallen prey too in my earlier days as a buddhist. The mock profoundity of the "don't worry its all going to be all right" line of teachings is a theistic approach to buddhism, and I am glad this is being pointed out.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Gregoire Weil
