I feel compelled to tell you that while you are certainly entitled to your own opinions, you are so off track with your comments on Lama Surya Das that I feel great sorrow for you. Although, initially I almost laughed out loud at some of your ridiculous and almost delusional conclusions. I'm not the kind of person that likes to criticize others, otherwise I would have a lot more to say to you. Instead I would just like to remind you if you are a buddhist or think you are, you would do better to realize Right Speech in yourself before wasting precious time that could be spent with a more noble purpose than bashing a lama who has led many people towards the Buddhist path, and is highly respected by other Tibetan lamas including H.H. the Dalai Lama. Maybe it would be helpful for you to examine your own motivations for wanting to stain another person in this way. May you have happiness and freedom from suffering.

Of course you are completely right in what you say concerning "right speech," had we not heard from you at all we would have found your statement entirely convincing. As it is, we find ourselves in the same position as our critics. We do not like to criticize either. We do so with great reluctance and only in defense of the role of the Vajra Master within Vajrayana Buddhism. That is the burden we carry, and which we would gladly drop if those who disparage the role of the Vajra Master were to desist in their public statements. We are glad, however, that our critique of Surya Das' writings and statements almost gave you cause for laughter: a sense of humor is important, so thank you for writing.
